R&B & Soul

Recorded at the famous L.A. club Whisky A Go Go in 1966, this album captures the raw energy of a small Otis Redding gig. Playing with his own touring band (not Booker T & the MG's as per his Monterey gig and European performances), this is Otis in his tried & true form - with a kick-ass band that blew the chitlin circuit's roofs off

With Rejuvenation, The Meters maintained their stripped down song structures and impeccable interlocked grooves while still leaving space for inspired jamming.

The 4th Meters album marked their departure from Josie Records and was released on the Reprise label in 1972. Including bonus tracks "Chug Chug Chug-A-Lug (Push And Shove)" Part I & II

Reaching #4 on the Billboard 200, On How Life Is meant instant success for R&B singer Macy Gray. The hit single "I Try" topped multiple charts, of which the Mainstream US Top 40 was arguably the crown on its achievement. With a contemporary mix of Hip Hop minded Soul, Gray has been a force to be reckoned with ever since.

On this record are classics such as "Nobody Knows When You're Down And Out", originally sung by Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday's signature song "Strange Fruit", as well as a Nina Simone favorite: "Sinnerman".
